Helping Republicans Apologize to Rush Limbaugh

Have you noticed over the last few days the number of Republicans who have criticized Rush Limbaugh only to retract those criticisms and apologize very quickly thereafter? It appears that, much as they may try to deny it, Limbaugh has indeed become the de facto spokesperson for the Republican Party and Republicans officials are showing themselves to be very wary of confronting their "leader".
